سيد Branko Mimic

Mr Branko Mimic is a Consultant Congenital Cardiac Surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London. Having qualified from Medical School, University of Belgrade, he was trained in congenital cardiac surgery in the UK (Great Ormond Street Hospital, London) and overseas (University Children’s Hospital, Belgrade)

Mr Mimic has been working at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children since 2022, specializing in neonatal and complex infant cardiac surgery, heart transplantation and adult congenital cardiac surgery at the Bart’s Heart Centre. Before joining the team in London, he was a surgical lead at the EMCHC in Leicester ensuring that the surgical team maintained standards of excellent care. He acquired the title of Master (MSc) in 2014 and Doctor of Medical Science (PhD) in 2018. His main research interests are myocardial protection, surgical outcome and risk models in cardiac surgery. He has led numerous charity missions in India and Kenya. He is a SCTS Deputy Congenital Cardiac Surgery Audit Lead. Mr Mimic received the “Who Cares Wins” Sun Award as a lead surgeon in the treatment of a baby born with a heart outside the chest.
