Prof. Paolo De Coppi, MD, Ph.D. 

Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at GOSH, and Head of Regenerative Medicine at the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health in London 

Paolo De Coppi is the Nuffield Chair of Paediatric Surgery, the NIHR Professor of Paediatric Surgery and Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children and Regenerative Medicine Section, Developmental Biology & Cancer Programme at the UCL GOS Institute of Child Health, London, UK. Paolo De Coppi is also an Honorary Professor at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC, US; and at the Division Woman and Child, University Hospitals KU Leuven, Leuven, Belgium. 

He has a special interest in research and treatments using minimally invasive techniques. His research has led to many ground-breaking new treatments for children. 

He has published more than 240 peer-reviewed articles in journals such as The Lancet, Nature Biotechnology, PNAS; supervised more than 30 research fellow and Ph.D. students; and has been awarded various national and international grants in excess of £23 million. He is on the editorial boards of the Journal of Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Surgery International, and Fetal and Maternal Medicine Review.
