Celebrating our Ward Stars!

At the International and Private Care (I&PC) directorate, we have outstanding, professional, and cordial staff members who give their best every day. To acknowledge the exemplary work they do, the directorate has launched a quarterly staff recognition programme in 2024 focusing on the Caterpillar, Butterfly, Bumblebee, and Hedgehog wards. The programme sees winners being chosen at the end of March, June, September, and December.

The initiative celebrates the outstanding efforts and contributions of our colleagues; paying homage to dedication in their work, no matter what their roles are.

Bonnie is a staff Nurse who is stationed on the Butterfly Ward

“Bonnie was chosen as she always handles stressful situations calmly and steadily. She answers family questions in a great manner and reassures them appropriately. Bonnie also provides the best care possible in an amazing way and accommodates patients’ families in the meantime with great skill. She is an amazing professional and a wonderful human being. Congratulations!''

Katherine Berry is a BMT and CAR-T Clinical nurse specialist who is stationed on the Caterpillar Ward

“Katherine is extremely supportive and helpful. She is always willing to lend a hand when needed, even when the patients concerned are not BMT patients. She also offers training to staff to help bridge the gap given her wealth of knowledge and capable manner. In addition, Catherine is always willing to help in general whenever assistance is needed.”

Maria is a healthcare assistant on the Bumblebee Ward.

“Maria is one of the most amazing healthcare assistants we’ve worked with. She strengthens the team bonds by remembering to include everyone in different activities and she brings the best out in her colleagues. Her initiative to beautifully decorate the ward on Valentine’s Day made for a warm atmosphere in which she didn’t forget to include all team members! She always works hard to maintain the ward while remaining helpful, kind and never failing to put a smile on everyone’s face in the meantime. Always goes above and beyond. Maria is loved dearly loved by all of us.”

Theresa Cheng is a staff nurse on the Hedgehog Ward

She is always helpful and assists everyone in whichever way she can. Her work ethic not only demonstrates her depth of knowledge but also her strong ethical commitment.
